FRANCE-LABOUR-ALCATEL-LUCENT
Employees of the French-US telecommunications equipment manufacturer Alcatel-Lucent protest against the company's restructuring plans involving 900 job-cuts on April 1, 2014 in front of the plant of Orvault, western France. The company, which announced in October 2013 it planned another 10,000 job cuts in two years to reduce costs and refocus its business, said it had an operating profit of 2.6 percent of sales in the third quarter.
