The World's Oldest Church

RIHAB, JORDAN - JANUARY 21: Jordanian volunteer archeologist Mohamad Khazaala explains about the oldest chapel (church) in the world as tests confirm that it dates back to between 33AD to 70AD, on January 21, 2015 in Rihab, Jordan. The chapel is carved beneath the ancient Saint Georgeous Church, which itself dates back to 230AD, and is believed to be the earliest known place of Christian worship by around two hundred years. It measures 12 metres by 7 metres and there are several stone seats which are believed to have been for the clergy and a circular shaped area, thought to be the apse. There is also a deep tunnel which is believed to have led to a water source. (Photo by JordanPix/Getty Images)
