NORTH HOLLYWOOD Shawnie Livera with LAPD 911 Communications Division reacts to her bald head as her friend Nancy Ennis cuts off her hair. members of LAPD and the LA Fire Department collected pledges for getting their hair cut at the St. Baldrick annual event to raise funds and awareness of childhood cancer. Firefighters and friends of Fire Station 89 in North Hollywood shaved their heads in public in return for pledges of financial support to fight children's cancer. All donations are directed to the National Childhood Cancer Foundation, the only organization of its kind focusing on supporting lifesaving research of childhood cancer.
