The USS Vicksburg cruiser ship is docked at Constanta harbour in Constanta, Romania, on March 13, 2015. NATO Standing Maritime Group-2 (SNMG-2) is one of four groups of the multinational naval NATO forces and is headed by US Admiral Brad Williamson. The group consists of four frigates from Canada, Turkey, Italy and Romania, a cruiser (US ship commander) and an auxiliary vessel from Germany. Romanian Naval Forces are represented in the group by HMS London, other ships are the cruiser USS Vicksburg (USA), frigates HMCS Fredericton (Canada), TCG Turgutreis (Turkey), ITS FGS Spessart Aliseo (Italy) and auxiliary ship FGS Spessart (Germany). The participation of the Romanian Navy at SNMG action group 2 of the Black Sea was planned in 2014 and has as main objective the development of Romanian military interoperability with military sailors of NATO.
