Dam Threatens Cambodian Villages

RATANAKIRI PROVINCE, CAMBODIA - 2016/12/05: Young Kachock men load motorboats with Teak wood for transportation down the river in order to sell onwards. The popularity of Teak furnitures in the western countries is very high as it worth six times the price of Pine and twice the Mahogany wood. Local communities refuse to be removed. Once the dam is in operation the waters will raise and flood their villages enveloping their homes and farmlands. About tens of thousands people will be affected by the Dam Sesan II as most of them are from ethnic minorities living along the rivers for generation.
