The plight of the displaced people in Yemen

TAIZ, YEMEN - FEBRUARY 27: Hundreds of families fleeing Yemeni civil war try to survive in flimsy tents without having any kind of accomodation and health services in al-Maafir town of Taiz on March 01, 2017. According to UN figures, these people are only a fraction of the total 3 milion displaced people in the civil war torn country with total population of 26 milion. The displaced people in al-Maafir say to AA reporter that they had to shelter here to save their lives by leaving all of their belongings behind as they're caught in crossfire between clashing government troops and the rebel Houthi militiamen backed by groups loyal to Yemen's toppled President Ali Abdullah Saleh. Fatima, a Yemeni mother who had to flee southern Taiz town of al-Kadhe says that they found themselves in the midst of a fierce fighting all of a sudden without understanding what's going on, adding that she lost her two daughters while trying to flee in panic during the chaos, and now she doesn't know the fate of them.
