"Forcados" Celebrate 90th Anniversary With A Bullfighting Event In Vila Franca De Xira

The Forcados are a unique feature in Portuguese-style bullfighting, that differs in many aspects from Spanish-style bullfighting, most notably in the fact that the bull is not killed in front of an audience in the arena. The Grupo de Forcados Amadores de Vila Franca de Xira was founded in 1932, and its first leader was Joaquim Franco. It is the fifth oldest group of forcados in Portugal.
