Prayers during Buddha Purnima celebration

[UNVERIFIED CONTENT] Buddha Purnima is among the most auspicious day of the year. The day celebrates the birth of Gautam Buddha in 563 B.C. In India, Bodh Gaya holds a special significance in the day's celebrations as it is the place where Gautam Buddha first attained enlightenment. People of different culture from across the world come to Bodh Gaya for the celebration. Majority of people come from China, Japan, Nepal, Bhutan, Thiland, Vietnam, Srilanka and of course different states of India. The usual mode of celebration is by lighting of oil lamps and candles, recital of prayers and Buddhist scriptures.
