388424 03: (UK OUT) A calf named Phoenix is kissed April 26, 2001 by its owner, Michaela Board at a farm in southwest England. Phoenix was saved from the foot-and-mouth cull after the government amended its slaughter policy. A whole herd at Clarence Farm near Membury, Devon, was culled when a nearby farm became infected; miraculously the week-old Phoenix was found alive amongst the carcasses.
