Conservator Helle Strehle holds a Viking Age silver coin discovered at a Viking Age burial site in Lisbjerg, a village seven kilometres north of Aarhus, Denmark's second largest city, on June 13, 2025. Some 30 richly adorned 10th-century graves, which experts believe belonged to a noble family, have been discovered in northern Denmark, a museum announced on June 17, 2025. Pearls, coins, ceramics, and a box containing a gold thread -- objects deemed "spectacular" by experts -- were accidentally unearthed during construction work.
