Bosnia and Herzegovina - In the Wake of Ratko Mladic

During the Siege of Sarajevo (Bosnian War between 1992 and 1995), the "Sarajevo Tunnel" was built by besieged residents of the city, who were cut off entirely by Serbian forces. The tunnel ran underneath the supposedly United Nations-controlled airport for approximately 960 meters, allowing movement of weapons, supplies and people from one part of Muslim-held Sarajevo to the other. Today, the tunnel is a museum with just 20 meters of the original tunnel passable for tourists to see. (Photo by David Bathgate/Corbis via Getty Images)
