Culver City, California: A complex "seek-find-and-kill" electronic control system such as that pictured here is the "brain" of every United States Air Force and Canadian Air Force interceptor plane guarding the North American continent against enemy attack by air. Manufactured by Hughes Aircraft Company, Culver City, California, the above system has as many different parts as 200 television sets. Such interceptors as the F-94, shown above, are built around the Hughes system which enables them to: 1. Located a target at long range regardless of conditions of visibility. 2. Direct the pilot to fly the most advantageous course to a point where armament should be launched. 3. Launch armament automatically at exactly the correct instant.
