Railway in Future Dagenham Automotive Plant

(Original Caption) London: Ford Plant Rises In London. On what was originally a great tract of soft mud, the gigantic Ford factory is gradually nearing completion on the Essex Bank of the Thames at Dagenham Dock, London. It was necessary to drive huge piles into the marshy ground for a wide area to provide a solid foundation of the huge structure of steel and cement. A jetty being built into the river will cost almost two million dollars. An idea of the great size of the factory may be realized by the fact that a railway runs through it for the transportation of materials. Here is one of the immense workshops showing the railroad.
