Lionel Messi, son of a factory steel worker and a part time cleaner, is the youngest of three siblings and used to have a normal life. When he was 13 years old, the “Flea” moved to Barcelona to undergone a medical treatment for a growth hormone deficiency and joined Barcelona FC. Three years later, Messi made his debut in the first team of Barça in a friendly match against Porto. Since then, he became an idol for Barcelona supporters and football fans in the whole world. He made his debut for Argentina in 2005 and have played two FIFA World Cups and won the gold medal in Beijing Olympics in 2008. He is now the captain of the national team.
