UNITED STATES - MAY 14: High school kids from Charles County Career and Tech in Marylad, check out the Viking 23, a hybrid car powered by biodiesel fuel and eletrcity, from Western Washington University in Washington state. The Drive to Survive, a two week drive from L.A. to D.C., arrived on the mall, Tuesday, featuring cutting edge vehicles such as those powered by hydrogen, electricity, compressed natural gas, biodeisel, ethenol, methenol and solar energy. Thousands of petitions will also be delivered to members of Congress to make a declaration of energy independence by increasign fuel efficiency, promoting alternative energy and decreasing our dependence on foreign oil.
