KANCHIPURAM, INDIA: Indian Hindu religious leader Jayendra Saraswathi arrives at a court in Kanchipuram, some 80kms southwest of Madras, 10 February 2005. Hindu pontiff Jayendra Saraswathi is jointly accused with Vijayendra Saraswathi of ordering the death of temple manager Thiru Sankararaman, 52, who had alleged financial irregularities at the temple which controls assets worth more than 50 billion rupees (1.14 billion dollars). Vijayendra a priest at the 2,500-year-old Kanchi Mutt temple, was granted "conditional bail" by the Madras High Court. He was told to remain within city limits and report to police every Sunday.
