Madelaine “Sunny” Hemingway Miller, (sister of Ernest Hemingway) aiming her shotgun in the yard at the Hemingway Family’s historic summer home “Windemere” on Walloon Lake in Northern Michigan - where she lived in her later years. Ernest Hemingway used the Northern Michigan setting in a number of his works, most featuring his character Nick Adams. The cottage appears in "The Doctor and the Doctor's Wife," "Ten Indians," "The Indians Moved Away," "The Last Good Country," and "Wedding Day." Sunny Hemingway was the sister of the late Nobel Prize novelist. Sunny typed portions of his famous novel, "A Farewell to Arms." Sunny was the author of "Ernie" a recollection of her life growing up with her brother. She was also a musician and played the harp with the Memphis Symphony. She was born in 1904 and died in 1995.
