Mantle Wafts One to the Stands
Making his first trip to the plate in the 1955 World Series, Yankee Mickey Mantle follows through here after getting the fat part of the bat on the ball and wafting it 400 feet into the centerfield stands. His belt opened the Yankee half of the second inning of today's third series game. Roy Campanella is behind the plate and ump Honochick is behind him. The Brooks won their first series session today, dumping the Yanks, 8-3.
