Coretta Scott King Joining Hands and Singing with Protesters
(Original Caption) Mrs. Martha Luther King Jr., led a small group of antiwar protesters to the Justice Department to make a plea for amnesty for U.S. military deserters in Sweden. Although she never specifically mentioned the deserters, Mrs. King proclaimed there was no room for any national policy that called for guns--"with or without butter." Singing hymns with Mrs. King are Rabbi Abraham Hesche, (L), and Reverend Thomas Lee Hayes, of Teaneck, New Jersey.
