Rizzuto Tags Billy Cox In World Series
(Original Caption) 10/1/1952-New York, NY: Making good with a low throw from Yankee catcher Yogi Berra, Yank shortstop Phil Rizzuto (Right) rolls away after tagging Dodger Billy Cox, who attempted to steal second in the third inning of the World Series opening game at Ebbets Field. Calling the play is second base umpire Larry Goetz. Rizzuto had to take the throw on the first base side of the bag and as he was falling he got Cox. Dodgers won the initial Series clash, 4-2.
