Syria's Palestine Branch Prison Shows Systematic Cruelty Of Toppled Regime

DAMASCUS, SYRIA - DECEMBER 17: A portrait of the president is taped to a locker door, as Syria's Palestine Branch prison, with its piles of documents of interrogations and reports, and its dark, dank collection of cells, shows the systematic cruelty of the toppled regime of Bashar al-Assad, in Damascus, Syria on December 17, 2024. The fall of the Assad dynasty after more than 50 years in power has revealed an archipelago of prisons where tens of thousands of Syrians were tortured and killed.
