(Original Caption) Screen Actor Cary Grant and his actress spouse, Betsy Drake, took turns tossing identical king-size gold keys into beautiful Lake Bermuda, symbolizing that the 12-acre mid-desert fresh water lake will always be open for the pleasure of Bermuda Dunes residents. Looking on approvingly is Ernie Dunlevie (right), who with Terry Ray, conceived and is building the 2,650-acre community in the Palm Springs resort area. The Grants are Bermuda Dunes' newest citizens, having purchased a spacious homesite near the fourth tee of the new community's proposed 18-hole championship golf course. Larger in area than Indio, the new community expects a future population of more than 10,000 people.
