Sound Perception And Interpretation. When A Sound Reaches The Ear, It Arrives At The Cochlea Where Sense Receptors Send A Message To The Neurons. The Message Is Sent From Neuron To Neuron Along The Spinal Cord To The Brain's Thalamus, Then Travels To The Auditory Cortex. There, The Primary Cortex Analyses The Sound's Frequency And The Secondary Cortex Analyses Its Nature. The Sounds Are Then Compared To Memories In The Rhinencephalon And The Frontal Cortex Creates A Behavior In Reaction To The Sound Perceived. Lastly, The Premotor Area Programs A Complex Gesture Which Is Broken Down By The Motor Area Into Simple Gestures And The Information Is Sent Via The Motor Neurons To The Muscles For A Response Action.
