Earliest type Prestwich camera, 1896.
UNITED KINGDOM - MAY 28: This 35mm camera with epicyclic movement (before claw movement) was made by the engineer J A Prestwich. Prestwich was one of the first manufacturers of sturdy, wooden-cased cine cameras, developing mechanical details such as epicycle intermittent motion and, in 1899, the detachable film magazine. In 1896 Prestwich collaborated with William Friese-Greene (1855- 1921), to produce a double projector, which claimed to remove flicker from the projected image. (Photo by SSPL/Getty Images)
