(Original Caption) 10/15/1964-Tokyo, Japan- America's Bob Hayes, winner of the gold medal in the Olympic 100-meter dash, is flanked by silver medalist E. Figerola of Cuba and bronze medal winner Harry Jerome (both not shown) of Canada during the medal presentation ceremonies here, Oct. 15. Hayes ran the fastest 100 meters in history when he won his semi-final heat in 9.9 seconds, but the performance will not be accepted as a world record because of an excessive tail wind.
