AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS - 2022/11/13: Two Uyghur men wearing traditional Uyghur clothes walk around the square holding Uyghur flags during an event to commemorate the 'National Day of East Turkistan'. November 12th marks the Republic Day of East Turkistan, also known as Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China. The Uyghur community living in The Netherlands organized an event to commemorate the 'National Day of East Turkistan' and keep fighting against the Chinese government to regain their independence. The Chinese government has reportedly detained more than a million Muslims in reeducation camps. Most of the people who have been arbitrarily detained are Uighur, a predominantly Turkic-speaking ethnic group primarily from China's northwestern region of Xinjiang.
