And Kichchu Haisodu is a tradition that the farmers in the state of Karnataka, India, have followed for hundreds of years. On this day the farmers decorate their cows and bulls with balloons and flowers and paint the horns in bright colors. In the evening as the sun sets the farmers lead the cows and bulls and are made to jump over a fire. This is done in belief that this ritual will ward off any form of evil.
