Szék is an island of Hungarian ethnicity in central Transylvania (Romania), where old houses are still standing with their traditional blue walls and thatched roofs. The Szék community managed to preserve its unique folk traditions, distinctive styles of music, dance, embroidery, and costume through the centuries. Many of the older villagers still wear their traditional costume as they go about their everyday life.
