N. Korea stages military parade on birthday of country's founder

PYONGYANG, North Korea, - April 15: North Korea starts staging a vast military parade on Saturday to mark the 105th anniversary of its founding leader's birth, amid growing tensions over its relentless pursuit of enhanced nuclear and missile capabilities. The opening ceremony of the parade at Kim Il Sung Square, named after the founder, in the heart of Pyongyang took place as the United States has not ruled out military options to prevent North Korea from advancing its weapons program. A vehicle equipped with a launch tube possibly for new intercontinental ballistic missiles is seen during a military parade. North Korea last held a military parade, featuring a stream of goose-stepping soldiers and tanks with a display of various armaments, on Oct. 10, 2015, the 70th anniversary of the founding of the ruling Workers' Party.
