Post Office, Southern Railway, British Airways and Swissport workers are all going on strike over Christmas

VOICED: Post Office staff today began a five-day strike - the longest continuous action in the company's 300-year history. Some rail and airline staff are also striking this week. Today a Downing Street spokesman said the unions were showing "shared contempt" for the "ordinary people" whose lives they were disrupting . Unions say strike action is always a last resort.
