The United States government now in the grip of the longest shutdown in its history
VOICED: The United States government is now in the grip of the longest shutdown in its history.
800-thousand workers missed out on a monthly wage yesterday, and there appears to be no end in sight.
Three weeks after President Trump triggered the partial shutdown over funding demands for his border wall, he is refusing to take steps to end it.
He said he won't declare an emergency to get federal money to build it -- for now -- and instead wants to see Congress come around to his way of thinking.
