War-torn Gazan with rare elephantiasis screams for help

GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - JANUARY 23: A war-weary Palestinian refugee suffering from elephantiasis demands treatment and medicine from international forces and aid organizations in order to survive. Zeyad Ibrahim is a war victim suffering from elephantiasis and in need of special medicines and care. He is trying to hold on to life under difficult conditions with his family in a makeshift tent on the sand right next to the Egyptian border wall. Israel's ongoing prevention of medicine, aid, supplies, food, and provisions from entering the Gaza Strip, as well as shooting at trucks attempting to reach them, targeting drinking water pipelines and wells, and hindering all aspects of life does not only makes the lives of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians difficult, but also endangers his live. Ibrahim calls on international forces and organizations to provide immediate ceasefire and humanitarian aid for him and all the people of Gaza. Israel has pounded the Gaza Strip since a cross-border attack by the Palestinian resistance group Hamas on Oct. 7, killing at least 25,295 Palestinians and injuring 63,000. Nearly 1,200 Israelis are believed to have been killed in the Hamas attack. The Israeli offensive has left 85% of Gaza’s population internally displaced amid acute shortages of food, clean water and medicine, while 60% of the enclave’s infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed, according to the UN.
