Papermaking with a Fourdrinier machine: On the Right side of the illustration, starts the process with filling of the prepared pulp. The dilute suspension of fibres in water is drained through a screen, so that a mat of randomly interwoven fibres is laid down. Large rolls are usually sliced into a number of thin rolls, which can feed continuous presses (e.g. newspapers) or be cut into separate sheets. System Robert - Fourdrinier.
