AGARTALA, TRIPURA, INDIA - 2018/11/29: A Bru refugee seen before casting her vote during the elections. Bru refugees cast their votes in a special polling center set up for them at the Kanhmun in Mizoram, 210 Km from Agartala, Mizoram is under Congress rule led by a Chief Minister Lalthanhawla. However, Brus, who are in a minority community in the state feel they want a change, Bru refugees have lived in six transit camps in the North Tripura for the last 21 years. They are calling for an area development council for themselves and cluster villages as a condition for repatriation. Senior BJP leader and North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) chief Himanta Biswa Sarma earlier assured that a suitable repatriation package would be offered to Bru refugees living in Tripura if BJP was voted to power in Mizoram.
