African American Parents Walking With Their Children to Segregated School
(Original Caption) Four mothers accompany sixteen Negro school children to the Webster elementary School here in an attempt to demand that the youngsters be admitted, April 3rd. The children said they would not "Stick around awhile" when told they could not enroll that day. Principal Harold Henry, in whose outer office the delegation sat, told the group they would not be admitted as pupils in this Southern Ohio community until the school board decided what to do about a U. S. Supreme Court decision April 2nd ending segregation there.
