GUWAHATI, INDIA: Indian Central Reserve Police Force soldier Upendra Kumar (C) is assisted by staff and colleagues onto a bed at the Guwahati Medical College Hospital in Guwahati, 23 May 2005, after being injured in a bomb blast. Three paramilitary troopers were seriously wounded in an ambush by suspected separatist rebels in India's northeastern state of Assam, a police spokesman said. The rebels, suspected to be members of the outlawed United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA), triggered a remote-controlled bomb close to a crude oil refinery in the state's main city of Guwahati as paramilitary forces were on a foot patrol in the area.
