India's ambassador to Kuwait Swashpawan
KUWAIT CITY, KUWAIT: India's ambassador to Kuwait Swashpawan Singh (L) poses 02 September 2004 with former Indian hostages released in Iraq yesterday before they leave the Indian embassy in Kuwait City on their way to the airport for repatriation back home. The three Indian truckers (R-L) Antaryami, Sukhdev Singh and Tilak Raj were freed after being held by Iraqi extremists for six weeks, along with an Egyptian and three Kenyan colleagues. They were freed by their captors after the company that employed them, Kuwaiti transport firm KGL, paid a ransom of half a million dollars.
