TOPSHOT - People struggling to commute gather around a packed bus in Port Sudan as local transportation is strangled after government authorities reportedly changed two currency notes, invalidating old notes, on December 30, 2024, in the Red Sea port city, where the government loyal to the army is based. Sudan is reeling from 20 months of fighting between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, led by rival generals, which have led to a dire humanitarian crisis.
