A soldier stands vigil before Congress after a bom
BOGOTA, COLOMBIA: A soldier stands vigil before Congress after a bomb exploded as hardline independent Alvaro Uribe was sworn in as the country's president 07 August 2002 in Bogota. At least 12 people were killed and 20 injured when the crude device, made from a gas cylinder, detonated just as Uribe was being sworn in. Uribe won a landslide victory in May elections to succeed Andres Pastrana, with his zero tolerance stance towards the country's rebel groups.
