Monty Naicker Addresses Anti-'Ghetto Act' Crowd

South African doctor and civil rights campaigner G. M. 'Monty' Naicker (1910 - 1978), president of the Natal Indian Congress and chairman of the Passive Resistance Council, addresses a group of South Asian fellow citizens during a hartal, or strike, demonstration declared to protest the white-dominated government's implementation of the Asiatic Land Tenure and Indian Representation Bill, known to the Indians as the 'Ghetto Act,' Red Square, Durban, South Africa, June 13, 1946.
