The Liverpool City Police team (Thomas Butler, James Clarke, Charles Foden, William Greggan, Alexander Kidd, Daniel McDonald Lowey, Patrick Philbin, George Smith, and Thomas Swindlehurst) won silver in the event (having fielded three teams, GB won gold, silver and bronze), which was held on 17th and 18th July at the Games.
