Virgin tropical rainforests of French Guiana
KOUROU, FRENCH GUIANA - OCTOBER 08: A view of the back waters of the Amazon River. French Guiana is haven for plants and animals with ninety percent of the area under tropical rainforests, the country has about 1,064 known species of amphibians, birds, mammals and reptiles, according to the World Conservation Monitoring Centre. Several endemic frogs live in the forests. The forests are part of the larger Amazon basin.
