A rare encounter with one wild Whale Shark (Rhincodon typus) swimming in the Andaman sea, Thailand. These are pelagic filter-feeding carpet sharks feeding almost exclusively on Plankton and small fish as seen here. Whale sharks are the largest fish in the Ocean however this one is a Juvenile approximately 3.5m in length. Whale sharks are classed as an Endangered Species on the IUCN red list due to being hunted for their meat, fins and liver oil. In the background one unrecognisable person is snorkeling. Underneath are numerous Cobia and Remora fish who follow the Shark for food.
