Saint Petersburg airspace reopens after staying closed for several hours

SAINT PETERSBURG, RUSSIA - FEBRUARY 28: Airspace over the city of Saint Petersburg reopened several hours after it was closed earlier Tuesday.The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency announced earlier that Saint Petersburg airspace was closed and Pulkovo airport did not allow landing or take-off of the planes.Only the flights were delayed or cancelled while the airport itself and its services operated in normal mode, Russian News Agency TASS reported.The authorities did not give any reason, but allegedly it may be connected to the Defense Ministry’s drill as Saint Petersburg is located on the territory of the Western Military District.
