Congresswoman Malliotakis cites OMB director that one in four Medicaid payments are improper overpayments

New York Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis says in morning hour debate that that Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vaught revealed the shocking fact that one out of four Medicaid payments constituted improper payments, which echoed a 2024 Biden administration report designating Medicaid and Medicare as high priorities for susceptibility to fraud, waste, abuse and improper payments, while a Government Accountability Office report estimated over $100 billion in improper payments within Medicare and Medicaid programs for fiscal year 2023.
