(Part 1 of 3) The astronaut John H. Glenn, Jr prepares for his flight into space where he will become the first American to orbit the Earth using Mercury-Atlas 6 (MA-6), also known as Friendship 7. Includes views of him getting into his spacesuit while he talks and smiles as another man adjusts the suit, walking to and using an elevator whilst carrying a portable air conditioner, cameramen filming the event, Glenn getting into the capsule and alterations taking place as a faulty bolt is discovered to the entry hatch. 20th February 1962.
