NEW YORK, NEW YORK- APRIL 22: Darlene McDay, mother of Dante Taylor, who died in solitary confinement and whose death was allegedly caused by prison guards, cries while remembering her son as advocates for ending qualified immunity rally on the steps of Brooklyn Borough Hall on April 22, 2022 in New York City. Public safety advocates call on the passing of a bill (NY S1991/A4331 or the End Qualified Immunity Act) that would hold law enforcement accountable for unlawful conduct in New York and it includes police officers, corrections officers, and state and municipal government employees. The rally was organized by End Qi NY (@EndQINY) in light of the six weeks left in the state legislative session. (Footage by Tomas Abad/Getty Images)
